So I make it part of my daily routine to read for a minimum of 30 minutes, I spend approx 15 minutes in the morning, and a further 15 minutes throughout the day or evening. I may have mentioned before that I sign up for lots of newsletters from all sources of online news, and one that landed in my inbox today really got me thinking. I want to share this with you, because what this blog posts talks about is doing whatever is needed to succeed.
And that is something you can inject in to your life and business.
So the this blog follows the life’s of a South African couple Chanel Cartell & Stevo Dirnberger who quit their ad agency job to live their dream of travelling the world and documenting their experience. After 6 months in to their year long journey, Chanel & Stevo are hit with a reality check, they run out of money. (You can read more about the journey here – http://howfarfromhome.com ).
Now heres what I love so much about this story, rather than quit and turn around and come home, they decided to do whatever it takes and keep going. So far they cleaned 135 toilets, spread 250 kilos of cow dung, shovelled 2 tons of rocks, laid 60 meters of pathway, made in-excess of 50 beds, and polished countless wine glasses.
Heres what they had to say about the journey:
“Although we knew it wouldn’t be easy, we are certainly learning fast that this isn’t for the faint hearts, and we need to learn to react and adapt to everything thats thrown our way.”
And this is what I think everyone can learn from –
1. Not for the faint hearted
2. Learn to react
3. Learn to adapt
But most importantly, to do what ever it takes to get to your goal and follow your dream.
I personally think this is such an inspiring journey, and if more people added this what ever it takes attitude to their life and business, we would all be in a better place, living a richer life, and be filled with much more abundance.
Another journey that is equally as inspiring, my long time friend and someone I have been coaching for almost a year CK Goldiing is on his very own journey.
He has a wonderful challenge right now called ‘100 Musicians’ and in short, he has ventured to London from Sheffield with just £100 and looking to take photos of 100 unsigned music artist. Now the catch is that the artists decide what to pay him, sometimes that can be nothing, other times it can be a coffee, a place to sleep or actual money to keep him going.
So far CK has been on this journey for over 2 months, and many times he’s been down to his last few pounds, but he has the what ever it takes mentality, filled with sheer passion and belief. Follow CK on Facebook for his daily updates about his journey – https://www.facebook.com/OfficialCK
So to summarise this post, we will all find times hard (Especially if you’re competing and not dominating – but thats for another post). However, if you really, really ask yourself this ‘Are you doing everything you can’ adopt the what ever it takes attitude, then apply this to your life, your business and everything you do.
Unsure where you should be applying yourself? Ive been there, and so has thousands, millions of others. Contact me to see how I can help you get your activity levels applied to the right part of your life and business. CLICK HERE
