What Is The Wheel Of Life And Can It Be Used To Improve My Life?

What Is The Wheel Of Life?

With life being so busy, and/or all your energy is devoted to one particular project, it’s easy to get off track, miss out on important areas of your life, and feel lost. If this sounds like you, then the wheel of life will change your life…

When we push ourselves too far, we can become frustrated and stressed. In these moments, we should take a “helicopter view” of our lives so that we can get back on track.

It is here where the Wheel of Life, sometimes called “Life Wheel”, can help. Typically used by coaches, it enables you to consider each area of your life and assess what’s out of balance. As a result, you can identify areas for improvement.

Start your journey to an extraordinary life.

The Wheel of Life is a guided tool that will help you evaluate where you are in the present, where you want to go in the future, and how to get there.

Whatever you are currently doing well, there will always be areas of your life that need work. Think about your health, career, finances and relationships. Where are you currently flourishing, and where could use some attention?

Take a step back and take stock of what you have accomplished so far, what your goals are for the future, and shape your destiny to create an extraordinary life for yourself.

In order to determine which areas of your life need more attention, you can use the Wheel of Life to examine and rate each one’s quality level.

What Categories Should Be Included?

It doesn’t matter what name you give these Life Wheels categories; they are generally the same for each of us.

The Wheel of Life categories typically include:

1. Physical
2. Emotional
3. Life/Happiness
4. Relationships
5. Career
6. Finances

These are the primary and most used categories for most people’s Wheel of Life. However, you can get creative and add your own categories based on what you feel is a priority in your life.

How Does The Life Wheel Relate To Me?

Our inability to grow in specific areas of life is often caused by subconscious limiting beliefs and a fixed mindset. Using the Wheel of Life is relateable to you because it helps you assess each of the 6 primary categories of life.

For example, by dedicating time to work on your relationships, you can see areas you may have neglected and begin to understand why this could be causing challenges in your life.

It also allows you to remove the limiting beliefs that potentially hold you back.

How To Use The Wheel Of Life?

Like anything, the more time you dedicate to this, the more you will get from it.

To get started, score yourself a rating from 0 – 10 on how satisfied you’re with the following six stages of your life.

1. Physical
2.
Emotional
3. Life/Happiness
4. Relationships
5. Career
6. Finances

Once you have identified a number for each category, highlight this number on the Wheel of Life (you can download a free template here).

With your wheel of life complete, you will see clear patterns and areas of growth, areas you can develop, and other areas you may wish to reduce.

How Often Should I Use The Tool?

There is no set schedule for how often you should use the Life Wheel. You may wish to use it once a year or every month. When you use the free template and workbook we provide, it’s supplied with a 90-day strategy for you to follow; therefore, it makes for good practice to use the Wheel of Life every 90-days.

By giving yourself weekly, monthly and quarterly tasks, you create momentum, which helps create a positive habit that enables you to see lasting change and growth.

Ultimately, if you feel like you need to evaluate particular areas of your life, use it when you feel the need.

Making A 90-Day Plan Using The Wheel

Insight is Cheap! Information doesn’t equal transformation; you need to take action.

It’s really a time to decide, decide to work on your important things, decide to improve, and decide to live an extraordinary life.

To decide literally means to CUT OFF everything except the things that matter. The word “decide” comes from the Latin word decidere, which combines two words: de = “OFF” and caedere = “CUT.

By following a 90-day plan, you get to focus on the things that matter the most and cut off everything else.
