Why positivity and positive affirmations DO work!

I’m beginning to see lots of articles, social media posts and general news being shared about how being positive, or practising positive affirmations doesn’t or won’t work for you and your dreams.

So let me share with you why this is not 100% accurate!

If you can see it in your mind, you can hold it in your hand!

First up realise that simply being positive and telling yourself good thoughts will not magically conjure up your dream life, despite what the law of attraction teaches you.

Does the law of attraction work? Yes, without a doubt, but only if you work! Being positive and thinking positive affirmations will not remove the excess weight you have gained, no matter how positive you think. The only way you will move the weight is by taking the necessary action, but not only once, consistently over and over again.

And if you want the weight to stay off, you need to stay committed to the movement and exercise otherwise it will gradually come back. Unfortunately, most people never lose the weight because they don’t stay committed long enough to achieve the desired result.

The same principle applies to life goals and business goals, most start with the greatest of intentions, but when things don’t go according to plan give up!

You may be familiar with the Pareto principle, otherwise known as the 80/20 rule and I believe that positivity and positive affirmations fit this rule perfectly.

20% of the things you actually desire is down to your positive outlook and positive affirmations, while 80% is getting up and doing something about it.

Now here’s how being positive or using positive affirmations do work!

When you feel in a positive mood, or tell yourself positive affirmations, you generally feel good, and the better you feel, the more you achieve. The more achieve, the more you want to do, and the more you do, the more you achieve.

Positive affirmations and positive thinking puts you in the right mental state to achieve your goals, sure they may not come easy, you may get knock backs, but when you’re in the right state of mind, you respond differently.

Being positive won’t move that weight, or deliver you a Lambo, but it will keep you focused when it matters the most.
