In today’s fast-moving business world, most teams start a project strong—and lose focus within a week. Distractions pile up, priorities shift, and the big goals fade into the background.
If that sounds familiar, it’s time to simplify your planning.
In this article, I’ll show you how to create a 6-week action plan using my proven ARC Framework, helping you turn big ideas into real results without burning out your team.
Why Most Business Plans Fail After Week 1
Let’s be honest—traditional quarterly planning is too long.
Most businesses start with energy, but by week 3, they’re drowning in:
-
Slack messages
-
Client requests
-
Shiny new tactics
-
Random new ideas
The result? You finish the quarter having made little progress on what really mattered.
That’s why we run everything on a 6-week cycle—long enough to see real progress, short enough to stay focused.
What Is the ARC Framework?
The ARC Framework™ powers your 6-week plan. It stands for:
Achieve: What’s the clear, measurable outcome?
No vague goals like “work on the website.” Instead, define things like:
→ “Launch the new lead magnet landing page.”
→ “Complete the onboarding sequence for new clients.”
Reason: Why does this matter right now?
Surface your deeper motivation. Not just “because we should”—but because it fuels growth, retention, or a personal drive to level up.
Create: What 3 actions will create momentum this week?
Don’t overload the list. Start the snowball, build momentum, and make progress without overcomplicating things.
How to Build Your 6-Week Action Plan
Here’s the step-by-step process I take my clients through:
1. Brain Dump Every Idea
Capture all the ideas floating in your head. Podcasts, books, conversations—they all spark thoughts. Write them down, but don’t act on them all at once.
2. Pick the Right Goal for This Cycle
Not every idea belongs in this cycle. Choose the one that will have the biggest impact right now.
3. Assign Ownership & Deadlines
Decide who’s responsible for each step—and when it’s due. A goal without a deadline won’t happen.
4. List the Resources You Need
Identify tools, people, and assets. No excuses like “I didn’t have what I needed.”
5. Anticipate Roadblocks
What will try to derail you? Shiny object syndrome? Client emergencies? Protect your time and focus.
6. Track Progress Every 2 Weeks
Momentum dips naturally. That’s why we do bi-weekly check-ins to course-correct and keep things on track.
7. Review & Improve
At the end of 6 weeks, assess:
-
Did you achieve what you set out to?
-
What worked? What didn’t?
-
What should be repeated, removed, or refined next time?
Why a 6-Week Cycle Works Better Than a 90-Day Plan
-
6 weeks keeps urgency high and procrastination low.
-
It fits into busy seasons without feeling overwhelming.
-
It builds the habit of execution, not just planning.
You’ll still set longer-term goals—but your 6-week action plan turns those goals into tangible wins, fast.
